How do I start therapy?
First, fill out this contact form or send an email to elyse@elysesamuelstherapy.com. From there we'll schedule a time to chat briefly by phone to ensure I’m a good fit for your needs. We will discuss:
Ongoing issues
Your location (I only see clients physically located in California or Connecticut)
A few screening questions
Logistics and scheduling
Then, if it feels like the right fit, I will send intake forms and confirm our first appointment!
What else should I know about therapy?
Video/Phone Sessions – I work solely via secure video/ phone sessions (otherwise known as “tele-health” services). If this fits your needs, we can establish a secure connection via a HIPAA compliant platform so you can be certain your privacy and confidentiality are protected.
Late Cancellation Policy – In the case of no-shows or late cancellations (with less than 24 hours notice), you are responsible for full session fee. Fees range from $100-$200 per session.
Payment – Payments can be made via credit/ debit/ FSA card through a secure payment portal.
How does individual therapy differ from caregiver support?
Every appointment begins with the 60 minute intake session. From there Elyse will recommend a course of care based on what your are seeking. Caregiver sessions can be a part of a child's individual therapy, (think: an add on to maximize supporting the child at home) or focus on the caregiver's concerns individually (think: caregiver burnout, help setting up a back to school routine, managing screen time, getting a 504 plan set up at school). Caregiver sessions are typically 30 minutes long and focus on caregiving needs only.
